I could never get the sleeves to look the way I wanted in Marvelous designer, so I made them from scratch in Zbrush and simulated them a bit on top

Some of the textures I made from scratch in Designer. None of this would have been possible without Pauline Boiteux's tutorials. The floral lace design is also based on a design by her

Queen Eclipsa

This project is the result of a year and a half of experiments focused on look dev, specially creating fabrics in Substance Designer, and practicing Marvelous Designer
Based on the character from Star vs the Forces of Evil, as depicted in a tapestry in the series, and also on a historically accurate redesign by Maria J. Rovra. Originally I wanted to keep it strictly edwardian, and spent a massive amount of time doing research. But in the end I decided to steer it back to her original design, and in the process I learnt that as much as I enjoy fashion and recreating it digitally, I most definitely don't want to have to design it!
Everything you see here was re-made from scratch multiple times, in different softwares and with different tools, in hopes of finding what looked best and what process worked better for me. I'm not entirely happy with all of it, but I think it's time to let it go and use this knowledge in new projects. I am happy though with how much I've learnt, and I hope I'll keep improving in the near future
Special thanks to Fran Cerchiara Montero, who had to hear me rant nonstop about all this, and also provided valuable feedback and encouragement!
